1945: A squadron of torpedo bombers is lost over the Bermuda Triangle during a training mission. After several hours, the main pilot reported that the instruments on all of their planes had failed, and subsequently they were in an unknown location. In an attempt to find the missing planes, a search and rescue plane was dispatched and it too was lost. Despite a thorough land and sea based operation to locate the missing planes, no traces were ever recovered.
