A dedicated team, practicing 5:30-7:30 almost every morning before school, is making their way to greatness in the sport of water polo.

The varsity women’s water polo team has had great success this season.  Having league games every Thursday night, the team supported an undefeated record except for their games against San Ramon.

The first game against the Wolves was close but in the end the Wolves pulled ahead to win 14-4.  The second game was a challenging one and the girls lost 13-1.

Nevertheless, the other games were outstanding.  Mustangs beat Amador 23-4, scoring 9 points in the first quarter, on October 16.  Another great win was on October 2 against Livermore, 23-9.

According to senior captains  #7 Courtney Fahey and #8 Mackenzie Flath, their team placed third in both the Woodcreek tournament and the Acalanes tournament.  With NCS coming up the team is seeded second overall.

“We took second in EBAL and are going to try and win NCS,” Mackenzie said.

The team consists of many great players who all add to the team in positive ways.

“We have four freshman which is awesome,” Courtney said.  “They are a really good addition to the team and make for a [great] bonded team.”

The four freshman include #14 Jolie Trujillo, #13 Lauren Indart, #6 Clara Malin and goalie Sara Steingraf.
