Miley Cyrus can’t be tamed
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you picture a celebrity twerking for their VMAS performance?
Miley Cyrus did just that, when she performed at the 2013 VMAS, which many considered to be unacceptable and shocking.
One of the most memorable moments of Miley’s VMAS performance was when she pulled out a foam finger and twerked in an all nude colored body suit.
“The whole foam finger thing was weird… it makes me feel sad,” senior Sarah Fryer said.
So what exactly went wrong with Miley? A majority of people believe the way she expresses herself is a disappointment.
“She’s doing all this stuff and it’s sending a bad message to the kids who look up to her, plus it makes her look trashy,” junior Alyssa Underwood said.
The way Miley expresses herself, isn’t something to look up to, especially in her new video “Wrecking Ball.”
“Wrecking Ball” is something hard not to talk about. News of it spread rapidly and many considered it to be scandalous.
“It’s understandable that she’s trying to show she’s mature and grown up but there are other ways to do that,” Underwood said.
Miley has seemed to have found herself in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Many believe the way she presents her talent is unprofessional.
“She’s misinterpreting her talent,” junior Claire Nelson said.
Although many think Miley has gone too far, others still enjoy her music, and find ways to appreciate it.
“Her songs are really catchy,” junior Maddy Maloon said.
Others find her album to be and inspiring and feel that she is trying to send a message about herself.
“Her new song ‘Adore You’ is really deep and is meaningful,” Fryer said.
But according to Mileys new documentary The Movement (aired Wednesday October 2nd) the celebrity has an explanation for all her actions.
“I’m a freak…i’m just a freak. I don’t think I’m smarter than anyone else…” Cyrus said during her documentary.
As for the criticism Miley receives, she doesn’t seem to be worried about her image at all.
“I’m not really scared or insecure about anything because I’m used to people judging me.” Miley said during her documentary.
All we can hope for, is that she realizes her twerking and unprofessional behavior needs to come to an end.
But as Miley Cyrus said in her documentary, “I’m used to people knocking me down, and I’m used to getting back up.”
