Not just pink and blue
A student body clad in pink–a sight that could only mean one thing.
It’s that time of year again. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and of all the causes that have picked months to raise awareness, the breast cancer community is by far the most popular.
With roughly 220,000 women and 2,000 men in the United States diagnosed with breast cancer each year, this cause more than deserves the support we show. But as the holiday season is upon us, let’s not forget that the current and coming months boast many things to be thankful for.
November, besides the popular “No Shave” phenomenon for prostate cancer, is also known as National Alzheimer’s Disease month and Epilepsy Awareness Month.
But the month-claiming doesn’t have to be all about ailments. Some more whimsical organizations have taken it upon themselves to earmark the winter months for their own purposes
National Novel Writing Month is upon us, the November event for any aspiring writer. The challenge is to write a 50,000 word novel from November 1st to the 30th. Virtual certificates and awards are given to anyone that can complete the challenge.

November is also known as National Peanut Butter Lovers Month, and Sweet Potato Awareness Month.
So whether you’re showing support for your favorite snack food, or raising awareness for a harmful ailment, wear the color of your organization with pride.
