Marie Shvakel is a 16-year-old junior. This is Marie’s third year writing for The Stampede. She enjoys dancing classical ballet but has not been able to since the pandemic. Marie also has an interest in computer science and mathematics. She has created three apps thus far and is familiar in Swift, Java, C++, and Python. And when she’s not obsessing over her academics she will be religiously watching the shows “Doctor Who” and “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” with her favorite drink - boba, of course. Her preferred style of writing in journalism is Op/Ed, and she is more than happy to be this year’s Op/Ed section editor. She hopes to be able to create articles and direct a section that discuss important topics in the world today.
